YOGA with Diane
Brief History and Training
Diane started her initial yoga practice at 52 years of age. Two years later, Diane made a life changing decision to retire early and pursue her passion for yoga on a full- time basis. Diane took her initial 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher training in 2006 at 54 years of age, under the tutelage of Vishvketu and she has been teaching yoga for the past 17 years. Diane follows a program of continuous learning and development so that she is positioned to ensure that her students receive the maximum benefit and knowledge from their yoga practice.
Tuesdays – 9:30-10:30 Gentle Yoga
This is a softer, more gently paced class that is meant to cultivate an internal meditative experience while stretching and recharging the body. Gentle yoga is less strenuous and best for beginners, or those looking for a calm class that incorporates breathing, postures and movement. There will be some strengthening, balancing and stretching poses. I also like to introduce a new breathing technique each week. A great place to start if you are new to yoga!
Tuesdays, March 18 - May 20 (no classes March 25/April 1) Members $120.00 + HST, Non-members: 130.00 + HST
Wednesday, 6:30-7:30pm Hatha Yoga
Practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit. These classes invite you to shift through a series of standing, seated and floor poses that will build body awareness, strength, focus and flexibility in preparation for breathing exercises and meditation. This class may also include some active flow or sun salutations.
Wednesdays, March 19 - May 21 (no classes March 26/April 2) Members $120.00 + HST, Non-members: 130.00 + HST
Fridays 9:00am-10am Yin Yoga
A Yin practice works deep connective tissues and increases energy flow in the body, releasing any energetic blockages. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes. Props are used to aid in physical release of tension without adding undue stress to the body. All levels welcome.

Welcoming member and non-member tournaments
Amberwood Village Golf and Recreation Club welcomes private tournament bookings for members and non-members. Reserve the course for a 9 hole tournament or simply a few hours to host your family and friends for a game of your choice, with the option to have ALE provide a delicious meal afterwards.
Pro Shop Staff will work hard to meet your tournament needs, and pull and power carts will be available upon advanced request.

Amberwood Village Golf and Recreation Club (AVGRC) (formerly Amberwood Village Golf and Country Club) is community owned by the members of the Amberwood Village Recreation Association (AVRA)/Homeowners, and its affairs are managed by a board of 9 elected Directors who live in Amberwood Village. The operation of the club (golf, pool, pickleball, annex, etc.) is managed by TMSI Sports Management Inc.
AVRA is responsible for the continued existence, viability and value of the Associations’ assets which include a 9-hole golf course, 10 pickleball courts, an outdoor heated salt water pool, a clubhouse, an annex and all of the land.
AVRA has three tenants.
J.F. Sabourin and Associates Inc. is an engineering consulting firm that provides specialized services in water resources, municipal engineering and planning to private sector and government clients.
Amberwood Beauty Lounge offers precision cuts and barbering services, as well as colour, highlights, balayage and perming. Whether it’s a classic or trendy look, Amberwood Beauty Lounge is there to meet all your hair care needs.
Amberwood Lounge and Eatery (ALE) is the recipient of several awards and is open to the public year round. Guests can dine in their beautiful restaurant or poolside or on the beautiful patio overlooking the golf course. Their gourmet menu will please everyone, and there is a separate extensive vegan menu along with many gluten-free options.
Amberwood Golf and Recreation Club aims to be a welcoming, affordable, and accessible destination for those in the Stittsville, Richmond, and Kanata areas, offering a variety of recreational activities and social gatherings throughout the year for families, youth, young adults, retirees and seniors alike. We offer a place of gathering that is a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to relax, play sports, dine, or host private events.
With over 40 years of history, Amberwood is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for Ottawans looking to connect with others and make lasting memories.

A brief slice of our history
For a time in the 1970s, the land that is now the Amberwood Village Golf and Recreation Club was marshland and beaver ponds. The area had once been a working farm, but beavers had built dams on Poole Creek, raising the water in some portions to four feet. Meanwhile, developer Jack Johannsen had a long-term vision to build a resort-style, adult community in the Ottawa area. In the mid-1960s, he had signed a 10-year agreement to purchase the farmland, but he postponed his plan until a sewer system was in place in Stittsville. Back then, Stittsville had a population of 3,000—less than a tenth of what it is today. There were no big box stores or restaurants or large shopping malls. To entice buyers to Amberwood Village, the developer created a very special drawing card—a challenging nine-hole golf course complemented by a pool, tennis courts and a posh clubhouse with racquetball courts and other amenities. And he assured buyers that they would collectively own everything. In 1986, the 50-acre property and its amenities were turned over to the not-for-profit Amberwood Village Recreation Association (AVRA) for the sum of $1. Today, the property is still owned by AVRA homeowner members and the once private club is now open to the public.

- All bathers must wear a swimsuit at all times
- Babies in diapers must wear swim diapers

Get ready for an unforgettable summer at the 2025 Amberwood Summer Camp! Our team is eager to welcome young campers ages 6 to 12 to participate in a wide range of exciting activities, including swimming, soccer, basketball, ball hockey, volleyball, dodgeball, water games, and more.

Cancellation Policy: Any cancellations prior to July 1st are subject to a $25.00 administration fee. There will be no refunds after July 1st. Any cancellations after July 1st will be considered a credit for another week this summer or for the following year. This new policy is to make our camp registrations fair for all parents and campers.
Social Membership
Join our social membership program and support Amberwood Village's greenspaces, winter trails, and indoor activities. As a member, you will receive complimentary access to indoor events and be invited to special gatherings. Your membership fee will be directly invested in our reserve fund, ensuring the maintenance and preservation of the club's assets.
$100 + HST.
Homeowner Membership
Amberwood Village Homeowners control the destiny of the site through voting for board members and having their say in activities. Annual dues from the homeowner memberships are paid into a reserve fund which ensures the condition of all the Club's assets are maintained at a level we can be proud of. An annual membership provides you with special privileges, including a gift certificate at ALE and a discount on your Amberwood activity membership.

Splash and Paddle Membership
Are you looking to enjoy a great game of pickleball and lounging by the Pool? If you answered yes, this is the membership for you! The Splash and Paddle membership offers you unlimited use of both the pickleball courts and the pool. Note: The adult membership to our 2024 season is currently waitlisted but we are still accepting family and junior members.
Adult: $600 + HST
Family (2 adults/3 juniors): $1,400 + HST
Juniors (16 and under): $250 + HST
Pickleball Membership
Are you ready? We have 10 (ten), well maintained permanent pickleball courts, windscreens and rest areas. Come join the fastest growing sport in North America. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, young or old, we have you covered. Membership includes 7 day advanced booking and the option to book into ladder play and registered play at all levels. We also offer a new 'drop-in' play with no registration required. Drop in is great for those folks that don't want overly competitive play.
Note: Membership to our 2025 season is currently waitlisted.
AVRA Active members may register for pickleball OR splash & paddle membership directly, without waitlisting (contact ProShop directly to join).

Amberwood has a beautiful heated saltwater pool which is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped deck with plenty of seating area.
Use the heated saltwater pool at your leisure, and invite guests to enjoy the pool facilities with you (guest fee apply). Open to all ages. Drop in fees are also available .

Pool Guidelines at Amberwood Village
The Club General Manager and the Pro Shop are responsible for the pool. To help them, members and public swimmers must check in at the Pro Shop. There are rules and regulations that apply to the pool; some are Ontario Pool Regulations and others are Amberwood rules. Here are a few key ones to remember:
- Take a shower using the outdoor shower before entering the pool.
- Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Children under 16 years of age must take and pass a swimming test if not with a parent/guardian.
- Children under 18 years of age are not permitted in the pool or on the pool deck outside of the family swim times.
- Children not yet toilet trained must wear a diaper and tight fitting plastic pants, or a special pool pant diaper.
- No glass containers are allowed.
- No diving, running or boisterous play in the pool area.
- Shoes, shirts to be worn in Clubhouse at all times.
